This chapeau tassel is copied from an original in our collection. This style was used on chapeaux from 1832 onward. The loop on the end can be removed if one desires a single cord, flat lace, or nothing. Appropriate for all officers. Price $30.00 a pair. |
*Officers holding the rank of General were additionally ornamented with
twenty-four 2.5 inch gold rays
emanating from the center of the Eagle and terminating with silver
stars.
Engineer officers used a strap rather than the loop.
